Research studies carried out by The Gilfillan Partnership include:

• A study of BME participation in Local Strategic Partnerships. The research looked at BME membership of LSP boards in 20 local authority areas, and at measures taken by the LSPs to monitor, encourage and support BME participation.  The study was commissioned by the Commission for Racial Equality in 2006.
  
  
• A review of equality and representation  (of ethnic minorities, women, disabled people, young people and lesbian, gay bisexual and transgender people) within the councils of the 47 local Learning and Skills Councils in England. The research was jointly commissioned by the national Learning and Skills Council and the Department for Education and Skills in 2006.
  
  
• A review and assessment of race equality work being carried out in 100 Further Education colleges in England. Commissioned by the national Learning and Skills Council in 2005.
